Tube top romper - appropriate for work??
For a Finance Department with a business casual dress code. No sweater or jacket worn. Not a casual Friday. Go!

Absolutely would not fly where I work, and my office is very casual.

Absolutely not!
If jacket/sweater worn, then I would say maybe.
It would work in my office, but the women here dress like they're working the streets.....

I think it depends on what type of work, and what defines a "Finance Department"...

Re: Tube top romper - appropriate for work??
No, not in the slightest unless you're in fashion, music, or tv I can't see that being appropriate ever.
In our office we can't wear spaghetti straps. Tube tops need not apply.

Re: Tube top romper - appropriate for work??
Completely bare shoulders and a romper nonetheless is not appropriate for a business professional anywhere. Even if it's a casual summer Friday dress code, it's just a big NO!

Never, unless the place of business involves a turn around a pole.

Is it a romper to the feet? I still think not appropriate but would be better if they had cardigan over shoulders.

Re: Tube top romper - appropriate for work??
Here's what happened:
Staff member came to work wearing a tube top romper on a day I was off. I found out because a director from another department came in and emailed me to let me know. This particular employee pushes the envelope daily. Has been written up about it before. She was written up for this incident because two days before she wore the tube top she was spoken to by her supervisor and given a written document outlining the dress code.
Fast forward to a week later, she wears the exact same romper WITH a jacket. I thought that was pretty ballsy. Granted, she had a jacket on. But I took it as an FU. Like she couldn't help herself. She wanted to show me she was gonna wear the romper no matter what. It's almost comical. This is a 40 year old woman. We're not talking about a 22 year old right out of school.

You shouldn't wear that even if you work from home, and there are no webcams....

Def not appropriate. I work at a construction company where people can get away with jeans almost any day because of our field operations but tube top....no way. And by romper I assume you mean shorts???? That is also a big no no.

Outfit definitely not appropriate, and the fact that she keeps pressing the issue despite previous warnings tells me the time for warnings and write ups is over, she needs to be shown the door. She can go all girls gone wild all she wants on the unemployment line. Not going to lie, thought you were referring to an early 20s young woman, not 40.

Re: Tube top romper - appropriate for work??
Yeah I thought this chick was in her 20s too. I have one here who would wear things that pushed the envelope all the time too- like black stockings that were designed to look like thigh highs with a lacy design up on the thing and then a short skirt to show it off. But she was 23

Tube top romper - appropriate for work??
An older Co worker used to think it was appropriate to wear swim suit cover ups to our business casual office. I asked her one day trying to be nice if she realized that it was a swim suit cover up. She said it was a dress. She had them in like 12 colors. If it was through one she though a tank top and bike shorts under it made it professional. She was in her early 40s.
