More Upsetting News Stories

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2016/06/20/twin-brothers-drown/86130562/

Two 3-year old twins accidentally drown in their pool. But why was the sister the only ones who noticed they were missing for 30 minutes ?!? Very strange but very sad. Poor boys.

More Upsetting News Stories

Ugh terrible...3 years old is not an age where you can just let kids go "run and play". So terrible for these boys and their poor sister who had to find them ??

Ugh I know.
Especially if there is a pool in the yard. Even though it's fenced, that fence didn't exactly look very sturdy and kids are Houdini's.
So awful

Yes to all this. Someone should have been watching them. So sad. There was another story last week where a toddler around that age locked himself in a car and died from the heat. He had last been seen 30+ minutes earlier. I get that at 3 they can be trusted a little more but go a half hour is way way too long.

Re: More Upsetting News Stories

I can see how you lose track of time .......especially at a party.

But I am a psycho about pools or any body of water, so I would never have let my kids outseide near a pool without me or DH ........

But, I let my kids play at 3 without watching them every second ........ANY accident can happen. - I feel so bad for these parents. I can't imagine.

Yes! Last weekend we were at a party in someone's yard. They had use of 2 yards because family lived next door and there was no fence. So the kids were running back and forth between 2 yards and the side of a house.
No pools or anything. My DD is 6 so I kind of let her do her own thing with my eyes on her from a distance. At one point we couldn't find her. We looked around both yards, walked around the side and front of both houses and I started to panic.
Turns out she was inside the house of the host, using the bathroom. My cousin was with her.
I almost had a heart attack though and yelled at her that she was NOT to leave that one yard for the rest of the party.
It's definitely easy to lose track of them when there is a lot going on.
