people who had metallic/sour taste in mouth
For any of you ladies who had a metalic/sour taste in your mouth, how long did you have it for?
I am going on 5 weeks of this. It starts right after I eat my first meal and continues ALL DAY LONG! It is making me so sick to my stomach. I brush my teeth and tongue many times a day. I eat pickles, I chew gum, and even changed up my prenatal vitamin. Nothing is really helping it. I am holding out hope that it will end when I enter my second trimester in about a week.

I had the same thing and nothing helped. Mine lasted until about week 14. It made me so nauseous my 1st trimester that I actually lost weight.

I did too. I think it went away around 16 weeks. Something that helped me for the short term (which also help with my morning sickness) were Peppermint Altoids.

The only thing that worked for me were the root beer barrel candies. It sounds strange but they helped get rid of that taste.

Mostly went away by 10 weeks or so, but at 17 weeks I still get it at times.

Re: people who had metallic/sour taste in mouth
I remember having it until 16 weeks. No one around me knew what I was talking about. The taste I had was just SOUR. Not metallic. All day long, it was sooo freaking gross. I think sucking on like butterscotch candies helped a little. And brushing w baking soda paste. When it went away I was so happy!!

Yes! this sounds exactly like what I was trying to describe. It definitely has improved over the past week or 2. Definitely not as intense but still there all day long! I have been chewing sugarless gum because it's the only thing that really helps it. Even though it's less intense, it still is affecting my appetite and ability to take in the fluids I need.
