I'm sorry to hear the update.
It's a brave decision that your mom made, and one that I should have encouraged my mom to make 12 years ago instead of enduring palliative chemo that took away her quality of life.
May your mom enjoy the rest of her life.
May your mom make new memories for all of you.
May your mom have a peaceful passing.
It's a lot to deal with, and sounds like you have a good handle on things.
Remember that many of us have gone thru the same thing, so please feel free to lean on us for support.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I lost mine to cancer this January after watch her deteriorate once on chemo. It's such a hard time on the family but be there for her and enjoy the time you have. Make memories, take pictures, be together.

Thank you very much
I appreciate all of your prayers and kind words. While this is awful we are going to look at it in a funny/good way. She will be here on the 9th and we will start designing her "death cave". I know that's creepy to some, but that's her sense of humor. In reality it is finishing our walk out basement and making it a studio apartment for her. We planted a garden for her and have started looking into doctor around here. We are going to keep spirits high and find the funny where ever we can. I started listing her favorite foods and she told me not to buy any green bananas from Costco because you just never know. I know this will be tough, and I know this is just the beginning but i'm hoping we can make memories that my kids will remember. She is writing a journal to my 3 kids and for my brother and brother in laws kids, if they have any. It's about her past and our family history. SHe is also doing cards for us to give them at highschool graduation, wedding, college graduation, birth of 1st child, sweet 16, 18, and 21st birthdays. It's so bittersweet to hear this.

so sorry to hear this, the ONE saving grace when we lost my dad was that he didn't suffer - I wish the same to your mom and I hope her transition is peaceful and surrounded by love :(
