Party theme help
My closest cousin is turning 50 on Memorial Day. Her dad passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago, her siblings are brawling over her dads possessions, her daughter is away at college, she's divorced and has to sell her house when her son turns 18, he's 17 now. She went back to school very excited about a career change and is finding that she really doesn't like her choice. She's working a really crappy job to get by. She's really having a hard time all around. I'm going to have a small party for her at my house. I live on a lake and she loves our beach and summer. I'm trying to come up with a fun theme for her party, there will be men and kids here too. She loves the summer so I was thinking something with flip flops and maybe tying in 50 but not in a bad way because she already feels like crap. I'm open to any summer theme, I usually have a Memorial Day party with all of that but I want to make it just about her. Any ideas?

Re: Party theme help
I just went on pinterest. How about a Hawaii 5-0 party! Then you can do something with summer and flip flops

Party theme help
if she feels like crap I would not make it a 50 th party, or mention her age at all.
what about a Georgian themed, Gatsby themed or a throw back to a coming out party.
