Lost passport - need one for Memorial Day Weekend
Can someone explain how to use one of these expediting services? Going to the passport office in the city isn't an option - if the passport is lost, do you have to reapply from scratch?

I'm not sure how it works when you lose it, but, when I applied for my son's passport, it only took about 10 days total to receive WITHOUT expedited service. They are turning them around quick lately.

You don't have to go to an office in the city. Not sure where you live, but you can go to the Nassau County Clerk's Office in Mineola to apply.

How long ago was that? I only ask because from what I understand, the closer it gets to summer and peak travel season, the longer processing a new application takes. Just something to take into consideration.
