Apartment dwellers - pest control help
Currently we live in a big apartment building with a 3 month old and a 2 year old.
As with all apartments there are the occasional bugs (that we see!)
But the other day my wife saw one of those giant roaches (the length of a credit card) in the bathtub
What are some safe pest control methods? (since we have a baby and a toddler)
The apartment has a weekly exterminator who comes by but we've never used it because of the chemicals.

Was that a waterbug? In the summer, I cover the drain in the bathtub, they usually come up through pipes.
Also, if roaches become an issue in the summer, I use diatomaceous earth powder which I bought on Amazon. I sprinkle it under the bathroom cabinet. It's not harmful and seems to make a really big difference. I haven't seen a roach in over years.

Let the Super know about it so they can take care of the problem right away. Ask the exterminator about the chemical and if the baby will be safe while in the apartment. I would have them treat it though either way as you don't want them to multiply.
