Are presale tickets to concerts seats better or worse than general public
I never bought presale tickets, and just did and questioning whether a concert goes on sale to general public, if seats are better than presale. I got tickets at Met Life Stadium and you can't pick your individual seat. I am just curious if one is better off waiting for general public sale as opposed to presale. I was just afraid it would be sold out so I went this route.

Are presale tickets to concerts seats better or worse than general public
Twice recently I got presale tix. The first time I got slightly better seats than regular sale tix. I know this because I also bought regular tix for the same show when they went on sale. The second time I got presale tix I was very happy with the seats I got but I don't know what would have been available when the regular sale started. (Both shows are at MSG and I got tix in the 100s on presale. Got tix one section higher but also one section "closer" to the stage on the regular sale)

Guns N Roses?
I never heard of the 'you cant pick your seat' thing, unless you got GA. That would make me worried, when are they going to assign you a seat?
I had that once for a Groupon, but it was a 5 dollar cheapie Groupon not a presale.

Re: Are presale tickets to concerts seats better or worse than general public
Generally they're worse. Usually if I'm buying during a presale and the seats are crappy, I toss them back and try my luck with the general onsale...and usually those tickets will be in a better location.
A few times though, the seats have been in a decent location. Good luck! Is this GnR?

Side note, I can't believe the prices they are charging. 250 for floor?!? If they dumped the seats on the floor they could have crammed in 3x the amount of people and lowered prices by 3x.
I'm hoping the market collapses and I pick up cheapies on Stubhub.

I just mean you can't pick your seat off the seat map. I have assigned seat, but wasn't able to individually look at what was available and pick from there. I think I have done that at Jones Beach.

Yes, it's G&R. My DH wants to go and I got it for him as a gift. I was afraid it would sell out, but now I am wondering how good I would have done when they release the rest of the tickets.

Oh, I understand now. I thought you meant they would assign you later.
That might be a venue specific thing. Some shows I'll see the interactive seat map, others no.

I would just look during the onsale also, and sell the first set if they are worse.

That's what I was thinking. I never knew some venues you can do that and some you can't. It's great when you can pick right off the stadium map.
My seats aren't bad but wondering for the same price if I could have done better.

I JUST said to my friend at work that for $250, I would also like to make out with Duff.
I may wait it out and see if some freebies fall in my lap. I don't know.

Re: Are presale tickets to concerts seats better or worse than general public
i bought tix for Peter Gabriel / Sting when they announced the presale and they seemed to be going fast. I looked during the general sale a few days later and there wasnt much left.
The seats I really wanted were too much money anyway.
I'd buy a pair on the presale and then check the general sale and you can always sell on stubhub. im sure you'll be able to sell them.

Thanks. Geez...I wouldn't know how to even begin to sell on Stubhub.

Re: Are presale tickets to concerts seats better or worse than general public
its easy. I sold my justin timberlake tickets 2 years ago. I listed them, in 2 hrs they sold. but it was like 2 weeks before the show and I wasnt a jerk and listed them for face value. (they were a gift to me and unfortunately I wound up not being able to go).
I have to list the Kidz Bopz tickets I just bought for DS. I bought VIP pit tix as a bday gift for later this year but they are going to be at Sesame place which I can see for free b/c we are pass members.
So i'll be putting those things up on stub hub when i get them

How does the buyer pay? Please excuse my ignorance.

Re: Are presale tickets to concerts seats better or worse than general public
buyer pays electronically through stub hub. Stub hub then pays you.
at least thats how I did it b/c I have paypal. So Stubhub will deposit the funds less their fee into my paypal account. I imagine you would link a bank account or ask for a check. Im not all that familiar..i've only sold one time. I forget what it was, but they do take a cut (take that into consideration when listing the price).

They take a very large cut - but IMO its worth it since you know you're going to get your money and not it being a big risk.
