How do you decompress?
My life has been hectic and incredibly stressfull lately. I can't think straight most days and have a pit in my stomach all day long. I have 3 young kids so it is hard for me to pee alone let alone get out and do me so to say. Today I went to work and left my car running for 4 hours. I forgot to turn my car off!!!! So tell me please, how do you decompress?

I don't know either, but I too got out of my car and went to unlock my front door and realized I didn't have my keys bc THEY WERE STILL IN THE IGNITION and the car was still running! Right there with you!!!!

Re: How do you decompress?
Going to the gym helps me. I forget about all the things i need to think about when I'm there. I take the classes because it forces me to pay attention to the instructor.
I also recently started meditating. Even it's for 20 mins in the morning. It helps to me to center myself for the day.
If all else fails wine.

How do you decompress?
I drink. Kidding. Kind of.
I have 2 kids, 2 and under, with no help. There are def hard days but I make sure to have me time once a week. When dh gets home I'll meet friends for dinner. Hell I'll even go to target by myself and that's relaxing.

How do you decompress?
Spa treatments and getting mani/pedis on a weekly basis... I try to get to the spa at least once a week. Reading (whenever i have time) helps calm me down too.

How do you decompress?
Same- I locked myself out of my house on my way to work Wednesday thank god my mom was off and only lives a few blocks from me to let me back in the house- and of coarse I was like 45 min late to work. I agree I do spa treatments. On Friday i left work a bit early came home and laid in my bed with my dog for a good hour. I felt so much better. It sucks and the stress is awful especially working like crazy and taking care of a family. Is it possible to take a personal day at work and go do a spa thing? I try and take 1 day a month minimum and do something like my hair, spa, or just sit home on my couch and watch tv and it's so helpful

I let thing suffer. Seriously. I pick and choose what is important and let the rest wait. 90% of the time we make ourselves crazy with things that are not a super priority so I re-evaluate things and make a new plan.

Re: How do you decompress?
I run, or workout in general. If I don't, I feel like a crazy person. It's my "me time".
A glass of wine once in a while...or once a night...doesn't hurt either.

Re: How do you decompress?
Cooking. I find it to be very therapeutic. Plus you get to eat so it's win-win.
Coloring. Adult coloring books are all the rage right now and for good reason.
Good stretching and yoga.
Sometimes completely avoiding current events can help me tremendously. I find that if I'm stressed about things in my own life - like, seriously stressed to the point of crying - I need to get the eff away from the news for awhile.
Playing the drums. Granted, not for everyone but it's never too early to pick up a hobby you're curious about.
I also go for walks on my lunch break. Helps clear my mind a bit.
