I read the officer who was shot was not seriously injured and they were able to catch the shooter. Hopefully the officer will recover quickly. I'm so sick of hearing about gun violence everyday.

Im choked up just thinking about it. A lot of families are there on spring break. Officers were telling people to run as fast as you can away from the building. I just cant even imagine being in a situation like this, especially if I was there with my two babies.

We were there in february and friends of ours came home last night from a 4 day trip there.
It seems nowhere is safe these days

I was there may last year...with my then almost 2 year old and 8 months pregnant. Went to all the tourist spots, even in the White House and I wasn't even thinking like this. Now all of it makes me so anxious...more so when it involves my babies.

I never feel really comfortable in DC.... to me it's like NYC when it comes to the threat of terrorism etc. Seems like it would be high on the list, as its the capital of the country.
But this wasn't terrorist related was it?
