Re: VFW Halls
KOC Oceanside for the downstairs room about 5 years ago was about 34pp for open bar includes everything (food tablecloths, centerpieces etc).
I have had parties at the VFW hall in Levittown and that's $800 for up to 80 people that induced beer, soda, and wine. you bring in your own food table cloths etc)

VFW Halls
I'm in the process of trying to find a VFW/KOC/Fire House in the East Meadow/Bellmore/Levittown area for my child's christening in July. I've gotten a few prices. Average is $500 for the room rental which includes a bartender. The bar packages run $9/pp for beer/wine/soda or $12/pp for full bar. So total average is between $800-$900 for about 60-65 ppl. I visited the KOC in Levittown, nice room and people - that was $775 including a bartender and beer/wine/soda for up to 50 people. Over and above the 50 is $7/pp. Room rentals are for 4 hours. Most of the places will set up the tables and chairs, you have to bring in any table cloths/decorations and food.
I've found most of these places don't have the best websites, it would be great to see pictures of the rooms since some can be hit or miss.
I'll be following this thread for any other suggestions!

We had my son's christening there 2 weeks ago and I would definitely recommend it.
$43 per person + tax and gratuity 4 hour party with open bar Crudites on buffet table when arriving Choice of 4 hot dishes and either a pasta or carving station You have to bring your own cake but they provide coffee, tea and a Viennese station with cordials, chocolate shot glasses and specialty coffees. Table linens are included, I paid an extra 50 cents per person to have chair covers.

Re: VFW Halls
It seems like it ends up being almost as much as a sit down restaurant. maybe the same.

Re: VFW Halls
We looked into the Seaford KOC for my DS 1st birthday a few years ago. I remember the rental was $400 but that was a discount because my BIL was a member of another KOC so I'm not sure what the normal charge was. The drinks were $9pp I believe and the caterer was $16 pp for food. I ended up booking a restaurant because the cost ended up being less where I booked.
