Spinoff on my post-cost of implant?
What are you paying per tooth for the implant, abutment and cap?
I was told $2K for 'everything" when they really only meant the implant! Now they are changing their story to $3K for everything per tooth.

Spinoff on my post-cost of implant?
I was told upwards of $2000 per tooth. I did a permanent bridge for just under $1600 instead as I needed 3 teeth.

And implants take time. Months. It's not like your going in Monday and leaving Monday afternoon all done. It's a process.

Spinoff on my post-cost of implant?
A few years ago, I was told 2,000 JUST for the implant. So, after all is said and done - 3,000 sounds right.

Re: Spinoff on my post-cost of implant?
A lot. Lol.
My insurance supposedly told the oral surgeon they cover the extraction 100% but then I got an EOB and they didn't give much $ so I'm not sure if they are going to bill me more, but here is my breakdown:
Extraction/Anesthesia- supposedly covered Bone Graft- $500 Flipper from Dentist- $708 Implant- $1850- If my insurance pays part of it then my OOP cost is $1250) Crown/Abutment- I don't have the quote but it was about 2200-2300, my insurance pays about $400 of this.
So at the very minimum I am probably going to pay around 4500 for this one tooth
ETA and yes per the previous poster it does take time. Between the time of extraction to putting in the implant and then putting the crown in, it's at least 8 months (I have to wait at least 4 months in between extraction/implant, and implant/crown).

Re: Spinoff on my post-cost of implant?
We have dental insurance and each extraction with bone graft was around $500. Each implant about $700.
I will find out the tooth - crown cost from my dentist in a few months when I am up to that part of the process.

Re: Spinoff on my post-cost of implant?
I was quoted $3k. I've been putting it off for nearly 6 years!
To be fair: AJ needed tubes AJ needed cyst removed surgically Hubby needed major dental work I needed MRIs brain/knee AJ needed Major dental I needed Shoulder, knee work I needed another brain MRI, shoulder and laid off
So it wasn't as if I actively avoided it.
My root canal didn't cut it. I have a broken tooth and sliced nerve. If I chew wrong or move the tooth, it strikes the slice and spikes pain through to the jaw line nerve. Fun. Fun. They warn me it can create an abscess because of it's position.
Just who has the time and money for that madness?!

Spinoff on my post-cost of implant?
Mine cost all said and done $2000 $1500 for implant Crown was covered
I will say some dentists have this "new technology" where they do a scan of your head. They will tell you o your insurance may cover it and if they deny then we will bill your medical ins. THEY DONT COVER IT AND ITS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY! it cost me almost $300 for a ct scan of my head that is not needed. So be careful i really find dentists to be crooks. I went to an oral surgeon who wanted $3500 for the implant and extraction. The same work done by another surgeon $2000. So I dont understand why 1 dr charges more than another.

My daughter is mid process and hers is costing me $1600.
No extraction involved. Just implant, abutment and crown.
I don't have dental insurance.

Spinoff on my post-cost of implant?
I just finished having 2 implants done, which took almost 2 years to complete after 1 of the implants failed and cost me about $4k for the extractions, bone grafting and implants (insurance covered most of the extraction cost but the rest was out of pocket). It is going to cost about another $3,000 for posts and crowns (about 1/2 will be covered by insurance). Just make sure you negotiate with the oral surgeon, who will negotiate because most of that cost was out of pocket and that saved me about $700.

Re: Spinoff on my post-cost of implant?
In the middle of 2 right now. Got the "screws" in last September, I go in two weeks to take impressions and begin to finish up.
Two teeth right next to each other, top right. (teeth 3 and 4). From start to finish, which included a sinus cavity bump on one of the teeth, I am paying $8250. north shore pricing for ya!

It's insane, right? If it weren't my front teeth, I wouldn't have done it. Heck, I could've taken a nice vacation with that money.
