Anyone recently purchase a 2016 Honda Pilot
Hi, we are looking into purchasing the new 2016 Honda Pilot. Has anyone purchased the Pilot and negotiated a good deal? My father recently purchased a 2016 Honda CRV and we got 2k off. When I inquired about the Pilot they said no chance of discount or incentive because they are selling quickly. In some cases waiting 1-2 months for the car to come in. Insane. We can't wait until the 2017 model comes out since we need the car by June.

i was considering a 2016 pilot in October, but after speaking to my aunt, she told me she ordered hers and there was not much they did in terms of pricing...and she had to wait 1 month + to get it in
We passed on the pilot and went with a 2016 traverse which we got an amazing deal on

we were in the same boat. They are HOT and they can't keep them in and b/c they are so in demand there are no deals. They don't need to put deals for people. We also were trying our hardest to get the captains chairs but the pilot you have to get top of the line and we weren't spednong 50,000 for a Honda
We looked at the Traverse but again they weren't offering a great deal and it was $$$, for the 2nd level up car. I couldn't believe the price for not the bottom of the line car. Also, when researching, we would have had to lease b/c overall research states people didn't love the car long term.
We wound up purchasing the Toyota highlander. It's on order b/c again its HOT and they can't keep them on the lot. reviews are amazing, rode really nice, it's a beautiful car, we got Captains chair, Nav, leather, etc fro less that the Traverse would have been and the Pilot for that matter. I drove it and fell in love with it. My C-RV lease is up this week and we have a few weeks before the new car comes in. My husband will be away for work and we are praying it comes in soon but we will make it work for a week or 2.

my SIL was looking to get a new car because her lease was up. They currently have the Acadia and wanted the new Pilot. NO ONE was giving any incentives since the cars are flying off the shelves like hot cakes! THe best quote they got was $450 a month.
I have the 2015 pilot and I love it though, but only pay $350 a month

Look into the Highlander, it's an amazing truck. We're actually going this weekend to buy it! Even with the redesign I'm not loving the new Pilot and both the Traverse and Acadia are due for refreshes so I was "eh" about them. I fell IN LOVE with the Highlander. It's got great lines, a gorgeous interior, and drives beautifully. I can't wait to get mine!

He might be saying that just to get us in. Fingers crossed I get the one I want but I'm flexible, to some degree, like you.

thank you. We are kinda in a rush but I am hoping it all works out. I am giving my lease back on Sat. My husband goes away next week so I will use his car, then praying it comes in the week after lol. I am excited to get it as well.

What makes the Honda Pilot so "hot" where everyone is knocking people over to get one? Never really understood this.
Why is the Pilot better than say a Jeep Grand Cherokee, GMC Acadia, Traverse, even the Nissan or Dodge?

It's not really better, it's just because it was redesigned for 2016 and has been getting good reviews so everyone wants one!
it hasn't been redesigned in AGES. it's been the same model for the longest time. We looked into last time we leased our 2nd C_RV 3 yrs ago but the reviews all said it hasn't been updated like the accord and CR-V that seemed to be remodeled every year lol.
it's also a Honda so it's reliable. It is a really nice re-make. I had my heart set on it until I knew they were hard to get and the price was insane lol.

I bought and picked up our Highlander today!!!!  They had EXACTLY what I wanted on the lot so we were able to take it home tonight!!!!! I ended up with the Limited AWD in Ooh La La Rouge with the black interior. It's SO gorgeous!! It drives so beautifully, I'm SO happy!!!! You're going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE yours!!!!!!!! Let me know how everything goes when you get yours!!!

It is a beautiful car, I am super happy with the captains chairs as I am due with our 3rd, and this life of a toyota is amazing. It's a win-win
ETA: I'm in CT. And we got the XLE. We bought it on Feb 20th and they said MID-March it should be here. So it's not so bad.
That's not bad of a wait at all. We're not in a rush, other than I want it, lolol, so if I have to wait I can. I saw the one I want in inventory on the Toyota website and the sales guy we've been dealing with says he has it in stock BUT like you said, you just never know. He might be saying that just to get us in. Fingers crossed I get the one I want but I'm flexible, to some degree, like you.

I bought and picked up our Highlander today!!!! They had EXACTLY what I wanted on the lot so we were able to take it home tonight!!!!! I ended up with the Limited AWD in Ooh La La Rouge with the black interior. It's SO gorgeous!! It drives so beautifully, I'm SO happy!!!! You're going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE yours!!!!!!!! Let me know how everything goes when you get yours!!!
Oh I'm so jelly but congrats!!!!! I can't wait. I will update. You got the shabang in the limited. Amazing. Good luck. I can't wait

We also were trying our hardest to get the captains chairs but the pilot you have to get top of the line and we weren't spednong 50,000 for a Honda
We looked at the Traverse but again they weren't offering a great deal and it was $$$, for the 2nd level up car. I couldn't believe the price for not the bottom of the line car. Also, when researching, we would have had to lease b/c overall research states people didn't love the car long term.
We wound up purchasing the Toyota highlander. It's on order b/c again its HOT and they can't keep them on the lot. reviews are amazing, rode really nice, it's a beautiful car, we got Captains chair, Nav, leather, etc fro less that the Traverse would have been and the Pilot for that matter. I drove it and fell in love with it. My C-RV lease is up this week and we have a few weeks before the new car comes in. My husband will be away for work and we are praying it comes in soon but we will make it work for a week or 2.
Supposedly they have the Highlander we want on the lot, I pray that's true because I don't want to wait weeks. What model/color did you get and how long has it been on order?
There seems to be a good amount of black and gray ones around but we are hoping to get our hands on the Limited in Ooh La La Rouge with black interior. We will consider another exterior color but I HAVE to have black interior.
we are getting black on black. The reason we looked at it was b/c of this board and the recent topics on it, and I know you answered a few of them lol. We went to a very small dealership, and online it looked like they had some so beware lol. They had 1 we looked at but it was sold, they had a few coming in but 1 was sold and the other I can't remember what they said. We were flexible on the colors just to make it easier to get one. As my husband went back to start the process, we bought one they were just building on the line. It took a lot of back and forth fro DH and them but in the end we are VERY happy. And they couldn't get from another close dealership b/c they didn't have a car to give them lol. It has to be an even trade but they said out of every shipment they get, they are only getting 1-2 of half are already sold each shipment.
