Would you buy your own basketball hoop?

7yo DS has recently gotten into basketball. We live in a cul de sac and our next door neighbor and we live at the end of the private street. Our driveways connect and we share a small area where our guests can park.

Neighbor has a basketball hoop that is sometimes at the joined guest parking area but most of the time, they keep it right next to their garage. I think they moved it to their side to not bother us when our kids did not play. They said our kids can use it anytime but it is becoming daily. Whether it is their kids or our kids, kids dribble on both driveways as well as the shared parking area.

DH thinks we don't need to buy one since our kids can use theirs. Our kids are smaller so we are constantly lowering their hoop, which I am sure is annoying to them.

Would you buy your own hoop?

If we bought our own, I would probably also take the hoop down to the street level and not just our driveways.

Yes - I would get my own.

Also - I would hire someone to assemble it. My inlaws got one for DS for his b-day this year and assembly was really hard!

I think you should buy your own. That way, you're not always using your neighbors (what happens if it breaks, will you get blamed?)
Also, if they become "basketball friends", they have two hoops, so they can play full-court games with both hoops.

I would.

I highly recommend Pro-Dunk Hoops.

We installed one last spring and our neighbor just installed his (after seeing ours) this past Christmas.
