What is there to do around Hershey other than the park?

Toying with the idea of taking AJ up to Kuntztown/Hershey Park. Seems the Kuntztown Fair is in August and we always loved that little fair. So we could spend a day there and of course Hershey Park but maybe two days there. What else can we do in the area in August?

Or should I just save the money and cut it to a small vacation?

We are going to WDW 3months later

Lancaster is I think about 30 min away if you wanted to do some stuff there

lancaster isnt far; and then there is something called INdian Echo Caverns. I remember going with DH when we were dating. maybe a 20-30 min drive from Hershey. its super cool.

Gettysburg isnt terribly far either if you're into historical things. its a nice town.

We loved Hotel Hershey. We thought the hotel pool was a lot better than going to Hershey Park. It felt like a real resort vacation.

We spent about 2 hrs at the zoo. You can get in through the park but we saved it for another day. Chocolate World.

Lancaster is 30 min away. I was not impressed with most of the attractions in Lancaster though. I didn't love the food. It was too bland for our tastes. Dutch Wonderland is obviously there though. They have combo passes.

What is there to do around Hershey other than the park?

Hershey Lodge is building an indoor waterpark thing (smallish, but looks really fun). Hershey Story Museum is interesting. Hershey Gardens, Chocolate World and Trolley ride. Indian Echo Caverns is interesting. Other than that, there is really nothing in the Hershey area.
