Girls day with a friend. Any suggestions?
My friend was recently diagnosed with nonhodgkins lymphoma. She's also about 30 weeks pregnant. I know she's been down lately so we're going to spend the day together away from all of this.
She can't take public transportation but I can pick her up and drive her into the city. Or Long Island. She lives in Forest Hills.
What would be fun and distracting but also keeping in mind she's very pregnant and may be tired from treatments.

how about a spa day? and lunch? can she get a pre natal massage? something to make her feel her self again
Or maybe a play in the city something that is upbeat and fun

My favorite girls day were always watching a funny or scary movie with my best friends and ordering pizza and eating junk food. May be nice for her so she can just try to relax. Prayers for her always

Love that too, but I'm sure it would be better for her to get out of the house. And the junk food isn't good for her with what's going on.

I think laughter is the best medicine so if you could find a shortish play or show in the city then that might be fun with a nice lunch closeby. Prayers for your friend

I agree with the funny, when I had cancer and right before my surgery, a friend took me to see a movie and then we got a bite to eat. Just being out kept my mind busy. prayer to your friend
but really anything you do will help lift her spirits

Thank you all. She's thinking either brunch and show or shopping in the city. She can't do a massage bc of the pic line in her arm.

I think tickets to a show is a great idea.. Or not sure how much energy she has these days but maybe a trip to the outlets to walk around a little and get lunch.

I don't know if you're interested in an overnight, but the Viana Hotel has a cute "spajama" party package.

I can use such a night. Sounds like a nice night. ANEW are you paying for your friend or is she covering her half?
I paid for my movie and lunch when my friend took me out.

well, if you are going dutch and the tickets don't work out, the overnight spa idea is a great one.
