Those with a CR-V

So we need a new car- DH has a VW cc that is having some issues we have had many volkswagens before so we know about when they will really start costing us. I drove the EX- loved it- now we are ready to trade in- the dealership we have bought 3 Hondas from refuses to negotiate saying its a popular car- is this true? Has everyone paid list for this car? I have a 2012 civic which will be going to DH and they definitely negotiated with me

I have a 2015 CR-V. I went on truecar.com to see what prices were. I took the best deal to the dealer and that is what they gave me. The price really wasn't that much lower than list price (maybe $1000).

I love my CR-V, I will probably buy it out after my lease is up.

not sure where you are located but go to apple honda. i got mine when the new style came out elsewhere and only got $500 off list. mine was ordered in the color & style i wanted. BUT my mom bought one 3 weeks later. She got the lowest model and one that was in stock and they gave her a MUCH better deal. they have deals online that they dont offer unless you know about them (more for your trade, etc)

Well we have a CRV right now. We lease and got the best lease we could, it was what they offered (in another state) but I don't think it was anything that special. We I do know is they are HOT cars. I like. For what it's worth it drives GREAT in the snow. I live in CT ina a very wooded, lots of curves and hills place and it is very good. ANyway not your question lol.

We are getting ready to upgrade to the Pilot (we think) and there are no great deals going on now bc they are so hot and in demand, the dealer can't keep them in stock. They only get a few a t a time and they fly off the lot.

When we got the CRV there wasn't much to choose from either.

Now I don't think there's NO room to negotiate,so I would looks somewhere else and tell them that, they will come around and work with you but not sure how much of a deal you can get.

When I bought my first car by myself, I kept calling the dealer back saying tis dealer offered me this, can you do better and they did. So I would tell them I'll take my business somewhere else.

We bought a 2015 CR-V the weekend after Christmas. We traded in a '15 Corolla that we still owed money on, even after the trade in. They went down in price bc it was the last weekend of the year and they were trying to make their quota for the month and year as well as trying to get rid of their '15's. It's a very popular car but they did lower the price.

We used Joanne at atlantic Honda. She was great to work with. Go at the end of the month.

I leased in 2012. One dealer didn't care about my business at all. Over all more than one dealer gave me the impression that they are so popular they didn't need to negotiate with me. Leases are tougher to negotiage anyway.

I bought 2015 in November. They took $2000 off because they were trying to get rid of the last few '15's they had. I got mine at Baron Honda in Patchogue.

If you are a Costco member, go through their auto program. Saves you some money without the haggling. We bought our last 2 cars that way, one of them being a 2015 CRV

Cr Vs are wonderful and dependable and worth their price but no one should ever pay full list price for any car. I recc Baron Honda.

I think it's kind of ridiculous for them to say that like no kidding Hondas are popular.. I had the most luck with Huntington Honda.

We have been going back and forth since Sunday with them and called other Hondas. My family has purchased 3 Hondas from Apple our sales guy is now management they are giving us 6k for the Volkswagen saying they are not in demand and we owe 9. We ideally wanted to use the Volkswagen as a trade in thinking we would get much more. As for the cr-v they won't budge. I called other Hondas and was told the same thing. I think we may just have to bite the bullet with this. I gave them a refundable deposit over the phone and they said just think about it and let them know but at least we have the car "on hold" and have till Saturday to decide!

Look online at different dealerships and print out any ads and prices you see. Bring them with you. Haggle with them in person.

Car buying is one of the worst things ever. Out lease is up in March and we keep putting it off lol

You can totally haggle. Only thing is that the model year is new so there may be less room. Best time for CRV is fall/winter when they are clearing out previous years models. Shop around. Check out truecar.com.

We are going to pick up the 2015 in my first post we aren't getting more for the VW or any off for the CR-V the true car value is 3k over what we are paying since its on "special" I'm ok with it. I called a few Hondas and went to one on my lunch break- no one had a better deal so we are sticking with this one. We need to get rid of the CC before we have anymore issues. Our payments will be about $95 more a month. Thank you everyone for all the advice!!! Truly helped us!

The process starts online.

Google Costco Auto for the link if the one I posted doesn't work.
