gift for neighbor?
Our neighbor just came by and snow blowed our front walk way. I would like to get them something as a thank you-any ideas?
I first thought an edible arrangement, but they start at like $40, which is a bit much imo.
Perhaps in the $20-$30 range?

Our neighbor gave us a $25 Amazon gift card when we cleared their driveway. I would think any gift card in that range would be good - Panera, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, etc.

$25 gas card (assuming the snowblower is gas powered)
Bake them something (if you are a baker)

My neighbor did the same for us last year and I sent him a tin of cookies from David's Cookies.

DH cleared our neighbors driveway (they were away). They just got home and brought over a bottle of wine which I thought was very nice and more than enough

I would wait until the end of the season, because they may keep doing it. My neighbor's teenage sons used their snowblower every time it snowed last season. We got them both an xbox points gift card for helping us out.
I would send mrs. field's cookies, or something of that sort. I also like the idea for the gas gift card

Our neighbor cleared our driveway and walkway last year during the big snowstorm while we were on vacation. We gave him a $25 gift card to their favorite take out place and a bottle of wine. And of course a BIG thank you!

I would bake something. That's what my mom does when her neighbor snow blows and he is very appreciative!

In the past, we've given our neighbor alcohol.

IMO a simple thank you is all that is needed. When people do things for others they do it from a place of kindness, paying someone etc takes away from that. Its like volunteering. You do it out of pure kindness and the good feeling it brings to you. I would never want my neighbors to give me a gift if I helped them shovel etc, but next time maybe help them. I also believe strongly in neighbors helping each other, its an act we are losing on LI.

I agree. I don't think you need to buy them anything. One year 2 neighbors with snowblowers helped my DH and I was inside baking cookies at the time. So I ended up doubling the batch and made a plate for each neighbor. My DH and DD went over to deliver the cookies and they very appreciative.

I think I'll give them a bottle of wine. I get nervous cooking for them bc one of their sons has a very severe allergy.
We're all friends in my neighborhood, and we often do nice things for each other. This particular neighbor also handed down a very expensive playground for my daughter
Thanks everyone!
