From what I have been reading there are 3 models nam euro and something else. 2 of the 3 are showing less snow. The nam is showing a blizzard.
Another thing I read on Rich's FB page today was a blizzard doesn't necessary mean the amount of snow, it's the blowing conditions. So you could get LESS snow totals with a blizzard, but it will be more windy and create white out conditions, etc
Exactly. Everyone thinks a blizzard is a lot of snow. It is not. I have driven through blizzards that had almost no snow, just tons of wind.

Latest update from Tri-State Weather on FB:
Afternoon model discussion: With the exception of the NAM model, all other 12z models including the euro have shifted the focus and core of the blizzard to southern New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, Delaware and Virginia with a general one to two feet of snow in that region. Any points north like Long Island and NYC would see around 6 inches and points further north into New England, an inch or two. The cold high pressure to the north is suppressing the storm south on the current model guidance. Now, we still have 48 hours to go and as we all know, a small 50 mile shift will once again bring the NY area into the main part of the blizzard. Coastal flooding is still a big concern for the NJ coast and Long Island. Let's see how the storm evolves and what the latest guidance shows this evening and tonight. As always stay with us for all the latest. Scroll the page for individual model maps.

"Blizzard watch is not about how much snow -- deals with winds and visibility....Sustained wind or frequent gusts greater than or equal to 35 mph will accompany falling and/or blowing snow to frequently reduce visibility to less than 1/4 mile for three or more hours."
