Credit Card Offers
I am getting bombarded with these offers in the mail (like 10+ per week). Is there any way to get off these mailing lists?

Part of my job is to present to groups about various topics: Anti-DWI, Pedestrian Safety, Drug Overdose Awareness, Credit Card Fraud Protection, Bike Helmet Safety, etc. etc. All sorts of public information that people need. We have a brochure on all things related to Identity Theft. And one of the things we include in it is an Opt-Out number for people to reduce the amount of offers they get... The idea is to reduce them so they are less likely to get into the wrong hands. That sort of thing.
From our brochure...
To reduce pre-approved offers of credit:
Call: 1-800-5-OPTOUT

Thanks for posting the question AND the info to opt out. I get at least three a week - usually more - and it's not only a huge waste of paper but I also wonder about the identity theft aspect of it.
