HELP! Contact lense still in eye?

I came home from work tonight and was rubbing my eyes because they were dry and I was tired, I am a few weeks into contact lenses for the first time. I was tired of rubbing my eyes so came upstairs took the left one out and the right one never came out, I didn't feel it in there! My vision didn't seem blurry in one eye and not the other either so I'm wondering if maybe I popped out and didn't realize when I rubbed them? IS this even possible!?!?!?!

I am so worried about going to sleep now in case it's in there....not sure what else to do, I've been poking around my eye for two hours and I just don't feel it!! HELP!!! I've read horror stories of sleeping with contacts and it's obviously too late to go to doctor.

OK, first of all nothing will happen to you if you sleep in your contacts once.

Second of all, it seems that you did pop it out and due to being a very inexperienced contacts wearer, didn't realize it.

And thirdly, if you didn't pop it out while robbing your eyes it would most likely start nothing you again in a minutes due to the eye being dry. that's how you would know!

If you come very close to the mirror, you will probably be able see the edges of the contact lens in your eye, if it's still in your eye that is, which it most likely isn't!

It's very likely it popped out when you were rubbing your eyes. (Side note: you shouldn't really be rubbing your eyes, but that's another story)

But, it's also possible that rubbing your eye could have pushed it up or down into your eye. If you're worried, to be safe you should have your eye dr check your eye. Leaving a contact in can cause serious eye infections. Better to be safe than sorry!

You would know if it was stuck up in your eye, it is highly uncomfortable and you wouldn't be able to keep your eye open for long. It most likely fell out.

Happens to me all the time, I rub and rub and it pops out. Could have gotten stuck in your hair, on your shirt, down your shirt etc.
If it was still there, it would be very irritating by now and it will eventually drop back down to where you'd see it
