Mid sudfolk pediatric and new billing
I know they merged with nslij but I got a bill for almost 1k. I know it's a mix up.
Did this happen to anyone else? What was the outcome? Was it resolved quickly?

They had a problem with everyone's billing, any visits back in October'ish were coded with their old tax ID number (before LIJ took them over) so everything went through as out of network. I too had a $1K bill for services I should've been billed zero for. I called Cigna and they said that Mid Suffolk gave them the new tax ID and that everything was put back through and corrected.
That being said, Mid Suffolk still sent me a bill even after Cigna took care of it and they told me that I have to send them the corrected EOB's to prove it was fixed before they zero out the bill in their system. I think that's a load of cr@p considering they knew about the issue and they corrected it with the insurance companies. Why is it my job to prove anything when they are well aware of what happened? They need to go into their own system and zero everything out, not sure why I have to waste my time printing out paperwork to send them proving to them what they already know. Idiotic.

Yeah it's been a pain in the ass since the changeover.
I had to bring my 3 month old in for a sick visit the other day and I brought a copy of my insurance EOB from my older DD's 18m visit from September bc not only did I get a bill from mid Suffolk for $1500 for the visit since they billed it out of network, but they also billed it to the wrong insurance company. when I told them they billed the wrong company, they rebilled the right one and still billed it as out of network and it was a couple of months later. Supposedly they're taking care of it. Knowing the issues they were having, they shouldn't bill the patient when it's an in house issue. I started panicking that I made a mistake and they didn't take my insurance.

I posted about this a few weeks ago.
I'm changing over this, I am pissed no one said anything when I made well visit and flu shot appointments. First they said they would rebill but now they are saying they will accept whatever our ins co pays,..,,I have about $2k worth of checks to send them.
I'm also annoyed that my DD woke up with an earache and called right when they opened and they could only get me in at 2pm.
