you can NOT make this stuff up
i called a customer to confirm tomorrow's appt.
it's not uncommon for customers to ask the names of the tech(s) who will be going to their homes. so when she asked, i just provided their names. let's call one Blake and the other Juan (both real names fall into clear stereotypical lines of what their ethnicities are).
she said, "Juan?! i don't want a Juan in my house! is he a new employee? does he know what he's doing. Blake, Blake i'll accept, but Juan i do not want in my house."
ladies and gents, you cannot make this SH*T up!!
i responded, "if you don't want 'A' Juan in your house but still want the work done, then you're going to have to wait until we have the right internal changes that will require us to hire and train a new employee who can do what Juan does with the 8-years of experience that Juan has."
she said, "ok, if he knows what he's doing, it's ok."
my final reply, "oh, by the way, another customer just filled in the appointment i was offering you. we will see you on Monday, after christmas."
silence.... then from her a mousy "ok, i'll see your techs on monday."
