my job is open until 1. I used the last of my vacation for xmas eve and 2 days next week. NO ONE is here today but for a few folks.
sorry you're stuck! when i worked at the local newspaper years ago, we were there most of xmas eve. :(

I could've taken off, but everyone brings their kiddies in for a 1/2 day on Christmas Eve and it's so fun for them. My DDs are really looking forward to it. But we'll be home by like 2pm.

It's really not a holiday so it surprises me how many people ARE off. The vast majority if people I know aren't.
It is a Holiday, it's Christmas Eve, but I get what you are saying about it not being a Federal Holiday. In many cultures, mine included, Christmas Eve is more important than Christmas Day. But I've been off since last Friday, so I have nothing to complain about!
To all you working tomorrow, I hope you get out early !

i work retail... and my ex has the kids christmas eve until 9pm, because i get every christmas.. so i don't mind working for those who want off to spend time with their families.
my family always did christmas day.

We are open, we are hoping to leave early, but we won't know until tomorrow when they tell us. We aren't allowed to take time off from after Thanksgiving until February- unless your calling in sick, so we will have a full office

Anyone else working Christmas Eve
I just started my job in Nov and had told them ahead of time that I would be out tomorrow. They are usually open and only work about a 1/2 day however if something comes up we could potentially have to stay.

Anyone else working Christmas Eve
Closing at 3. Then I have to drive from my job in Hicksville to ronkonkoma as quickly as I can, get myself and the kids ready, and then drive to seaford. I'm so annoyed. So I'll be up super late tonight since I'm hosting Friday and will have no time to do anything tomorrow.
Christmas Eve is pretty much as big as Christmas Day in both of our families so working til 3 is extremely inconvenient.
ETA: I would have taken tomorrow off but I already had to take today off unpaid since I used all my days during maternity leave.

DH had work, but took off, used a vacation day for it.  Most people seem to like working on christmas eve, i dont see why more people dont get off for the eve and im jewish!!

Last year I worked the full day & due to horrible subway delays & weather, I didn't get home until really late & didn't get to enjoy Christmas Eve at all... so I put in to take the day off this year. First time in 6 years I'm taking off on Christmas Eve! Not that we do much, but I really want to cook this year, so I'm glad to be off the whole day.

my husband's a barber, so he has to go in today whenever he doesn't work he doesn't make any money...he's booked till 6 today, but may go later than that 
either way, it is my first day off (not including weekends) since Thanksgiving, so I'm happy to finally relax, make raviolis and get some shopping finished.

I worked a full day xmas eve. Sometimes they let us go a half hour before closing, but this year I left maybe 5-10 minutes early.
