Make SURE you keep the contract you sign.
Planet fitness just upped their monthly form $40 to $80. No notice. No nothing. I see a lot of people complaining "can they do that".
If you HAVE your contract then you have legal feet to stand on. One of them being able to leave the gym.
No matter what, no matter how long you stay a member KEEP the contract.
ETA: I think this is for the lifetime membership...or something like that. Basically people signed up to pay $40 a month and overnight they changed it to $80, I do not know EXACTLY what "fee" it is, but I think its attached to the lifetime membership.

That is SOOOO wrong and insane!!!
I still pay the same crazy low price from my gym before they renovated and upped their prices immensely. That is what is supposed to happen when you sign up for a gym membership!!!

Wait- I thought planet fitness was $10 a month.
$80 a month seems insane- that is more than LA Fitness.
Planet Fitness is like a "no frills" kind of gym no?
Can that even be right?

I think its the yearly fee. Their website still has the yearly fee as 39.99

Dh used to be a member. I wonder if this is all locations nation wide, or if it varies by state.
