How to you keep yourself from crying in public?
Let's say at a funeral or a goodbye and you don't want to be seen crying, how do you keep yourself from crying?

Weird. But it helps.
I also will try my hardest to not be present. Counting backwards, etc
Though sometimes, like a funeral - just let it out.
But at work, or out in cvs reading greeting cards - armpit trick
Yes. I'm that woman in the greeting card aisle sobbing over certain cards

I don't. If I try to stop it, I make the ugly cry face and then it's even more embarrassing. I just try to minimize it and just dab at the tears so it's not super obvious.

How to you keep yourself from crying in public?
I usually don't cry in public..I just can't but if I feel like I am, I will either excuse myself and take a walk, go to the bathroom, etc or just think positive thoughts like funny, happy moments together.

If i am the only one crying, then i will try to get away to a private place if i need to.

I don't hold back. If someone wants to judge me for crying at a funeral let them, but I don't care. It's a sad event, I don't need to hide my emotions. It's too hard.

How to you keep yourself from crying in public?
I can't. As hard as I try I just can't stop myself from crying if I feel upset. I literally burst into tears at my desk this morning and it was incredibly embarrassing. I wasn't even at a funeral I am just feeling really sick and someone said something to me that set me off.

I don't. I couldn't care less what others think if I cry. And isn't it normal to cry at funerals?

I'm really not a crier, at all but on the rare occasion that I feel on the verge I do one of two things:
1. Look up. Apparently it's damn near impossible to cry while looking up.
2. Do math equations. It's also supposed to be very difficult to cry while doing math. Even simple addition or multiplication in my head works.
I have never had an issue after learning these two tricks.

I do these things as well. Well, not math equations but I will start thinking about totally mundane things...like what I'm going to make for dinner next week and what ingredients I'll need, and what do I think will be on sale and then next thing I know I'm off on another planet and the urge has passed.

At funerals I don't try to hide it if I'm crying. But I've heard that looking upwards can help.
