Installing a Remote Starter on a Leased Car?
Has anyone done this? Do you have to take it to the dealership where the lease was done to have the install? I don't want to get in trouble when I turn the car back in at the end of the time period. Also, does anyone have any idea of price for a remote starter? Thanks!

I would call the dealer and check. You don't want to do anything that might void the warranty or cause you grief at the end of the lease

Re: Installing a Remote Starter on a Leased Car?
I had it installed on a leased car. I did not have the dealer do it; it would have been a fortune. I went to Car Tunes on 110; at the time; it was about $150? $200?
They don't care; its an extra asset the car has when you turn it in and they sell it again.
But of course; you can still call to ask.

On ours, the dealer has to do it or it voids the warranty

That's actually against Federal Law....

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket or recycled part.
However, the lease agreements are different than a warranty, and there could be repercussions involved if you add third-party items.

OK, fine, feel better? Semantics and they know what we meant. So fine, Its against my lease agreement. Either way, if I install anything aftermarket on my lease, they are not responsible for any damage it causes or may cause.
