Re: What was the last kind thing you did for a stranger?
I ordered a bunch of gifts off of Amazon from my hospital's wish-list of young adult cancer patients who are stuck in the hospital for the holidays.
Also will be dropping off a large bag of goods to the Bowery Mission next week.

Re: What was the last kind thing you did for a stranger?
I put together a handbag drive via Facebook in response to a request from one of our shelter/women's program directors. I am amazed at the support received from women in the Wantagh Mommas group. Probably over 100 handbags donated (and still counting as more arrived at more door last night) many filled with everyday essentials and warm winter gloves, scarfs socks. The director was so overwhelmed as was I at the generosity and thoughtfulness a simple Facebook post gathered.

Not so much a stranger but one of my students comes to school everyday with just a sweatshirt. He said he doesnt hve a jacket, so I ran to target at lunch and bought him a winter jacket, hat and gloves.
Ill also be buying xmas presents for another student who lives in anhomeless shelter as a secret santa project we participate in eaxh year.

Re: What was the last kind thing you did for a stranger?
i bought blankets for a neighborhood drive. my neighbor is going to give them to the homeless.
we also cleaned out a huge box of unopened toys in the garage that were from DS birthday and xmas last year. I brought them to work for the homeless shelter they collect for.

What was the last kind thing you did for a stranger?
My DH has his own business. So a new girl started there 2 weeks Ago. she's 22, a former marine, down on her luck. He asked her how she gets to work each day? She borrows rides from people, she also has a young child to, whose maybe 2. . Anyway, he heard her talking about a used car for sale from the mechanic around the block. It's only 2500, and she had only 750. DH went and bought the car for her, and will take a nominal amount of of her check to repay him over time. Awww

There was a fire outside my school today. I bought water bottles from the corner store for the displaced families/firefighters and tylenol for the security agent & principal who dealt with the smoke all day
we are also running a collection drive to help the families who have lost everything :/
