Lamar Odom released from Vegas hospital
UPDATE: Lamar Odom arrived in Los Angeles on Monday night with estranged wife Khloe Kardashian after being transported via helicopter from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, a source confirms to Us Weekly. The NBA star will be receiving further treatment in L.A. after being found unconscious in Nevada last Tuesday.

Amazing he was well enough to be transferred considering the state he was in.
On another note. I saw just that photos were released of him at the brothel. Including one of him passed out on a bed the day before he found unconscious. Disgusting that these photos were released.

I am assuming it is a rehabilitation facility?? Meaning physical and cognitive - not drug... For the anoxic injury. I guess that is to be released.
Once breathing on his own there's not much else a hospital setting can do -- he needs acute care now.

That really is disgusting. And, why would someone take a pic of him passed out on a bed anyway? Or was it stills from security cameras?

Yeah I'm assuming walking, talking. Cognitive rehab and physical.
Although drug rehab would be a good idea after all of this. It's a miracle he came out of this. Hope he doesn't take this second chance for granted
And I really hope the Kardashian family doesn't exploit this for ratings.

He was being transferred to a hospital closer to home.

Lamar Odom was transported by medical helicopter from Las Vegas to a Los Angeles hospital Monday night, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
Odom was accompanied by his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, sources said. They left Las Vegas around 5 p.m. PT, and he was in a private room in a L.A. hospital later that night, according to sources.
The helicopter for Monday night's move was large enough to transport the 6-foot-10 Odom, who had to be transported to Las Vegas by ambulance last week because he was too tall for the helicopter from a regional hospital in Pahrump, Nevada, near the brothel where he was found unresponsive.
Odom's family and friends said earlier Monday that his condition was improving. He has been hospitalized since Tuesday, when he was found at Nevada's Love Ranch brothel, 90 minutes northwest of Las Vegas. He was rushed to the hospital and put on life support.
Odom has been breathing on his own, without a tube, since Friday, according to sources. He also has been conversing with family and friends.
The 35-year-old former NBA star has started physical therapy and will soon try to walk, sources told the Los Angeles Daily News.
"Lamar has always been blessed with a tenacious, fighting spirit, overcoming insurmountable obstacles to achieve the impossible," JaNean Mercer, Odom's maternal aunt and godmother, said in a statement. "These past few days have been no different. ... [He is] defying the odds in his toughest battle to date."
Jim Harrick, Odom's college coach at Rhode Island, told CNN that Odom has made progress.
"We're more hopeful now," Harrick said. "We've been on pins and needles for days."

Probably to sell to tabloids.
Even if all this didn't happen. They probably would've sold them to tabloids.
I keep thinking this is pretty low. But than again look where he was. Guess I shouldn't be surprised by their behavior.

I'm so confused by this comment. No one is celebrating him! He is a drug addict. But it IS a disease, like a mental illness. Everyone who knew him seems to say he was the sweetest guy with the biggest heart. His friends and teammates GUSH about him. People just want him to get better and live a happy and healthy life. It's not exactly a "choice" to become and remain a junkie.
And not for nothing, he HAS been ostracized - he lost his job, his career, his wife, his kids. He has almost nothing left.

I like Lamar and I have always wanted to see him turn around and get better. However, he made the choice to go to Bunny Ranch, do drugs and have a sexfest. So therefore, if pictures are shown, should anyone be surprised? He made that choice. He knows paparazzi is everywhere and even though they weren't at the brothel, of course they will leak it. Not disgusting per se, but reality.

Wow. It's a shame that people think like this. This guy has had an extremely rough life beginning from from his mother died when he was 12 years old. It only got horribly worse from there including the death of his 6 month old, two best friends dying within a week of each other, a cousin getting murdered and sadly much more. Until you've walked a mile in someone's shoes I don't think you should be so quick to judge.

I think people are responding this way (myself included) because it's disappointing to see the media give a minute by minute update on a "celebrity" who put themselves in a coma .......Pepole like Whitney Houston, her daughter, Lamar .....yet, you hear nothing of a cop or fireman who put himself in the hospital saving an innocent person's life, or of a Marine killed because he was protecting 10 others ..........stories of 'non famous' people being hurt of killed doing incredible things are never reported, but every famous person's trip to rehab is front page news -
People make those comparisons and become frustrated. - But that is on the MEDIA - I'm pretty sure given the choice, Lamar Odom would prefer that the whole world didn't know what has happened to him.

Yes, there are amazing people out there that do not get the praise they deserve but the fact is they are not celebrities. There is no possible way to highlight every.single heroic act or senseless tragedy. As much as I hate the media at times they cover the stories that make the most money and it obviously works in their favor.
Also, I'm pretty sure Lamar does not want this story being broadcasted for the whole world to hear! I know I certainly wouldn't if I were him! Why should we blame him for the excessive attention he is getting?

Im glad hes doing better. They had him in the grave. I hope this turns him around for the better. Im sure the Kardashians think their prayers are the ones that brought him back to life. I really hate those assholes.

I assume you have never been through addiction? consider yourself luckily that no one you love has ever had to battle this. why should he be ostracized? that is ridiculous, sorry

I disagree completely.
I don't judge him at all for the sex. Hell, that place sounds like fun! He was no longer with Khloe - their separation was underway and everything signed, just waiting for the judge to stamp it. She has a boyfriend and moved on. So, in essence, he's single and can do whatever he wants. And it was completely legal. I never judge when it comes to sex. I, myself, love it. And if done safely with protection, there's nothing unhealthy about it -- if anything it's good for you when done safely!
As far as the drugs, he had an addiction problem. He's only hurting himself. If he was out driving like that and putting innocents at risk that would be one thing. But he was doing no harm to anyone but himself. That's sad, but it does not make him a bad person. No malice is there.
Addiction is a disease of the human spirit.
Now, I've never done drugs, never even tried but I can imagine how difficult a chemical dependency can be to overcome. Emotional issues come into play also.

I agree. And if "you" don't care then don't comment on the thread.
He had a rough life. A life I wouldn't wish on anyone. Lost his mom at 12, raised by his grandmother who died recently as well. Lost a 6 month old baby. Two best friends within weeks. His cousin was hit by a car and died.
Don't judge bc the mighty always fall as well.
