Verizon Iphone Data
DH & I share a plan and he got a new phone about 6 weeks ago and ever since we have been flying through data. He says he is on Wi-Fi at home & at work so I'm not sure why we are using so much all of a sudden. Any tips?
Also how much data is on your plan if you share with someone? We share 4gigs but maybe thats just not enough?

I just got the new iPhone 6s and in one day I went through 25% of my data!
Make sure under the cellular setting you shut off wifi assist. If you have it on, it will pick whichever connection is stronger wifi or cellular, and eat away at your data. You can also hand select which apps you want to use cellular data or restrict yo only being able to use wifi

Where is the wifi assist setting on iphone? I haven't had a problem with data but want to make sure I have the right setting on that.

Also make sure you turn off the auto play feature on Facebook if you're on there. It automatically plays videos and eats data. DH and I used to share 4gb but he used a lot of data so we upgraded to 6gb

Thanks for posting - DH just got the 6s last week and we got a text yesterday we had eaten through 75% of our pro-rated data plan. I checked my recent usage (including before the upgrade) and I hadn't used that much in the last month (he changed it to 3 - I was below 1...)
I will have him check his settings.

Go to settings, data, wifi assist (at the bottom) and shut it off. Will save so much data.

I can't find wifi assist.
Also, I just changed my plan from 6gb to 3 since we were only using not even 1GB per month. I see that it is saying in one day we used 1GB. If this is true, there is something really wrong.

When you go to Settings-Cellular- scroll down and check off all the apps that he doesn't need to use unless he's on wifi. The only apps I can use without being on wifi is my mail, bank apps, phone, safari and maps (just to name a few). Everything else is turned off and I use hardly any data.
I heard a lot of people say with the new software they added has apps that take up a tremendous amount of room on the phone and use a lot of data if the data isn't turned off to it.
