Airborne?
I'm working with someone who's sick, coughing and hacking in the car. It's so gross. He's complaining because I have the window open but I said it's because you're sick and coughing all over! I'm stuck in a car with him for 9 hours. Can I take something to prevent? I don't want to get a cold and bring it home to my son. I hate inconsiderate people

Re: Airborne?
Any chance you can get your hands on some Elderberry syrup?
I've been taking it daily since this time of year is notorious for colds. Most people can't take off from work every time they have a cold; I would've missed all of October last year if I did! Since that's the case, I just try to protect myself against the colds the best that I can.
I did end up getting a cold anyway, but it has been notably more mild (knock on wood) than ones in the past at the same time of the year.

I started having my family take this and it really does help. People just do not stay home anymore when they are sick with colds/ strep/ stomach issues, etc. airborne is ok but much better results with the syrup.

Airborne?
Also a fan of elderberry. But I use the liquid extract. Not the syrup.

Re: Airborne?
I ordered mine on Amazon. I feel like you could probably find it at a CVS or comparable store though. Anyone know for sure?

Airborne?
I bought mine at Wild by nature but I'm sure whole foods or any healthy vitamin or nutrition shop would have it

Re: Airborne?
You can but Elderberry syrup in CVS. Sambucol is the name.
Take Airborne too though.
Also, buy Simply Saline mist while you are there. The hairs inside your nose capture viruses ..if you can flush it out before it gets to your lungs etc...you can prevent a cold.

Airborne?
I would get the Zicam rapid melt tablets. Those seem to be working THE best for our family recently. I take one as soon as I feel like a cold coming on, and it's gone within a few hours. It's expensive, but worth it. I used to like the Elderberry, but I found we had to take A LOT for it to work.

Airborne?
Just an fyi, if you have any autoimmune issues you should NOT take elderberry syrup. Best way to keep from catching a cold is to wash your hands frequently, get lots of rest, eat healthy and a little extra vitamin c.

If the zicam contains any form of zinc ( I think it does) just make sure to not take it ever on an empty stomach. I learned that the hard way. I got soooo naseous. Its great, with food though.

You can also make your own elderberry syrup. It gets expensive buying for an entire family for the whole winter.
Also this is gross but if you coat the inside of each nostril with vaseline germs get stuck in there. Don't forget to garage daily with warm salt water. And drink hot things constantly. Tea and even coffee. It'll kill germs in the back of your throat.

Re: Airborne?
I agree with what others suggest:
Airborne or Sambucol at first sign of cold (mine is consistently a sore throat)
Lots of hot water with lemon or herbal tea
Saline spray
Gargle with warm salt water
Extra sleep!!

Airborne?
That would drive me crazy I am a super germaphobe! I would take airborne asap, it wont hurt you it will just boost your immune system. Also vitamin D and C are good. Make sure you drink a ton of water today. Wash your hands a lot and keep that window OPEN!

Airborne?
I'd start taking zinc immediately. My doctor friend always tells me to do that if I am closely exposed to someone with a cold.
