Recommend your running sneakers- pls dont move...
Searching for a new pair of running sneakers and i am not having any luck! I bought two pairs of Nikes to test in the house and both have made my feet hurt.
Any recommendations??

Try Asics. I've never liked Nike for running.

I like New Balance, but my feet are wider and I have found that a lot of other brands just don't fit my feet well. I think it's a very personal thing.
ETA: These are the ones I actually have: http://www.amazon.com/New-Balance-Neutral-Light-Running/dp/B00DG6T18W
I find them to be really light, lighter than other running sneakers I have had before. I like them a lot.

This - I go between New Balance and Saucony, every few years they seem to change the cut of the shoe. My husband loves ASICs and Brooks.

I just got fitted with a pair of saucony's and am really happy with them. But I'm a running newbie so I have a limited frame of reference.

I swear by ASICS Gel Kayano for long distance running. If you're able to go to a running store they can tell whether you pronate etc to see which brand might be best for you.

I strictly wear Asics to run. When I started running I tried Nike and they were uncomfortable. Then I bought my first pair of Asics and they were amazing. For my next pair I bought another Asics, and a New Balance, just to try. My New Balance are also uncomfortable for running. I've come to the conclusion that I can only wear Asics for a comfortable run. I also agree, go to a running store (I go to Runner's Edge in Farmingdale) to get fitted properly.

This. Getting fitted is really important if you're serious about running. I don't mean you're training for a marathon serious but if you plan to run often it makes a huge difference. I hated running or even walking. My legs and feet hurt so bad after even a 1/2mile in my nike's or asics. Then I went to a running store and was fitted for my Saucony's and LOVE running now! It's amazing the difference it made! I also like Brooks as well but it depends on each brands style on what I wear or buy that year.

I'm a runner and have worn Brooks, Asics, Sauconys, Adidas and Mizunos throughout the years and would recommend all of those brands but you have to get what's right for your foot. For me, I only wore Asics for years but they they changed the shape of the shoe I loved and it no longer worked for me. Then I switched to Mizunos and once again, the new version of the shoe I loved didn't work for me.
The type of shoe you need depends on your arch, the width of your foot, your gait (if you are a heel striker, midfoot striker, etc.)
So like others say, you need to go to a runner store and try on a bunch (a good running store will let you buy and return if they don't work).
You said you have Nikes---I've never been able to wear Nikes.

Go get fitted at a running store. Runner's Edge is great. I wear New Balance because they fit my foot the best.

Ditto. I run every day. I used to wear Brooks and just switched to Mizuno almost exactly a year ago.

You're going to hear 1000 answers bc everyone's foot is diff when it comes to running. I had to buy asics that were designed for overpronation so I had a hell of a time finding sneakers that felt good. Everyone's arch and run style is different. In general though, asics are really good running shoes.

I agree go to a running store and they will analyze your feet and how you walk and they will give you a few options to try. I love my new balance sneakers.

Try Asics. I've never liked Nike for running. agreed!!! Asics are my favorite. I have a pair of Brooks now that love also. But as everyone else said it's very important to go to a running store to get properly fitted.
