Tooth pain after temporary crown
Hi all - I had a root canal a few weeks ago and the temp crown put in this past Wednesday (getting the permanent on 8/22). But, I'm having a lot of pain at that tooth - both on the gum and it feels like in the tooth as well. I don't think it's that the bite is too high. Is this normal? I've had other crowns and don't remember the temp hurting so much but I just might not be remembering.

Tooth pain after temporary crown
Weirdly enough, l woke up without any pain at all. Must've been some food or something caught in there that was irritating everything.

It could be irritating to the gum. I had this happen. I had to be very good about flossing / using those brush things in between teeth right after I eat. I'd definitely mention it to your dentist.

Yeah, I think it was just a lot of irritation. I think I need to be more careful chewing on that side and then flossing right after eating so nothing is sitting there. I will call the dentist just in case, but I don't really have much in the way of pain this morning.

Try these things, too.
I'd get the smallest size if you can. And be gentle. Try salt water, too.
I feel your pain.

I have to run the drugstore anyway so I will pick some of those up. And thanks! This pain is *nothing* compared to the agony I was in before my root canal.

Tooth pain after temporary crown
My temporary crown KILLED me the first day it was in. I cried to my Mom that I had made the biggest mistake and that the dentist was a butcher. It got better the day after and then it happened again when they put in the permanent. My dentist said its just the swelling and irritation of the gum. Mouth pain is the worst!!
