Crazy Storms
Who else got slammed last night???
It was INSANE out!!!! The lightening was unbelievable. I made the mistake of going out this morning and got stuck forever, so many roads are down and have no lights. The Three Villages got hit hard, I cannot believe the amount of damage. Trees split down the center, power lines torn down. It looks like tornadoes ripped through the towns.

Thankfully we didn't either but practically everyone else around us did. It was the craziest storm I've ever seen!

I'm not surprised. There were poles and power lines ripped up everywhere.

Us too. Nothing here
Though a bomb could go off in my driveway and I wouldn't hear it with the window ACs we use- so loud.
But I didn't see any damage or anything in my yard this morning- just wet

Not going to lie, I didn't even notice that the ground looked wet! but I'm pretty oblivious.

Yes and the hail!!
Non stop lightning. The sky just literally kept lighting up and then the winds! It was like the end of the world. Thankfully it got out of here quick.
I lost power and then it was back.
I just lost power again today.

It looks like a tornado came through by us! Trees down everyone, lots of power outages.
Crazy huge hail. And the lightning was NON STOP for about 10-15 minutes. I've never seen anything like it.

The lightening was INTENSE!! I couldn't stop watching, I've never seen anything like it!!!! And then the hail!!!!..............it was just crazy. Really one of the worst storms I can remember.

The Lightning and rain woke me and DH up around 4:55. Storm was over within 10 minutes but it was crazy! The Lightning was nonstop and the thunder was so loud! So glad DD didn't wake up!

It seemed like north shore had the brunt of it... I'm over in Holbrook and from what I recall the storm came though around 5am and only lasted a short while

No traffic lights for miles, no power until maybe tomorrow. Trees down, power lines down... This looks just as bad, if not worse, than Sandy. (At least for setauket/PJ/etc)

I am in Port Jeff Station and we got hit pretty hard. I saw a lot of trees and fences down. Many lights were out, people driving like lunatics all over. When I left for work I didnt know how bad it would be until I started driving and saw a lot of damage.

I think only north shore Suffolk was hit. You would've known if it passed over you, no way you could've slept through it. It was SO loud and crazy.

You know how lightning is usually intermittent? And like flashes on and off? Lol every minute or so?
Well, this lightning was like a strobe light and CONSTANT - every few seconds flashing for literally twenty minutes. That and the thunder woke me and my BF up - DS slept right through it all - and my BF and I just laid in bed and watched. It was really cool actually.

I'm in Queens and the thunder and lightning were intense, my dog was like a lunatic. She kept running to the windows and barking at the thunder. I don't think we got the crazy winds and rain though, no damage that I noticed this morning.

My Dad is out in Amagansett - he said they had some crazy wind and rain but it went by quick.
Up near Calverton it was nuts this morning - but luckily we didn't lose power and I didn't see any downed trees nearby. When I hear the rain (and I think hail) I was waiting to see if the emergency thingy on the phone would go off.
Unfortunately the storm woke the 6 year old - and he wouldn't go back to sleep. Not scared, just, you know, 5:30 is a great time to play.
