? If you're sick and not feeling better...
Been battling something all week (congested, cough, throat and ear). Thursday I went to urgent care and she gave me a z pack. Still feel terrible though and my primary doesn't have office hours until Monday. Been drinking tea and Advil too. Would you go back to urgent care? I was up all night and barely slept primarily from ear pain. Or does z pack have to run its course? DH is also no help either....it's like he completely forgot how to function without me, so this is adding to my pain...

? If you're sick and not feeling better...
I would wait until Monday since you just started it basically 2 days ago. It takes 24 hours for the first dose to even travel through your body, so I'm not sure what the urgent care would do besides tell you to give it a little time to work. Hope you feel better soon!

I'd wait it out. Antibiotics take a little while to work. Also it could be viral so the antibiotics will have no effect on it.

Rest as much as you can.
I also drink tea w honey, lemon and fresh grated ginger a few times a day when I'm sick. I swear by it

Try warm compresses on your ear. Should help with the pain.

My dr said that he wont even prescribe Z packs anymore, that it only works about 30% of that time.
That being said, I would also wait it out. They're not going to do anything more for you.

That's what I thought. My doctor said it was prescribed so much that there are many resistant bacteria now.
I would go back to urgent care if I know the place & trust them. I used a local one when I had 3 bouts of strep throat in a row. I knew it wasn't their fault that I wasn't fully kicking it. It wasn't the first time I had trouble kicking strep. All 3 bouts started on weekends and I knew right away that I had strep so I didn't wait until my doctor was in.
I'd only give it another day before going back.

Go today to a good vitamin store and pick up IP-6.
Take two for the first three days and then one a day.
Holistic and very strong immune booster.
A good friend called me the other day complaining of the same - sick like you, not getting better, AB not helping, and i told him that. He went right out and got it.
He called me the following evening and said OMG I'm like 88% better and it's the first day I'm able to function.
Then just take it daily like any other vitamin for consistent immune health.

Thanks everyone. I feel a little better today. My ear stopped hurting which I think has got to be one of the worst types of pain in the world. Will look into the other stuff too.

A pack only works if it is bacterial. If it is viral than it won't do anything. It takes a while to get rid of congestion. Most ear infections and sinusitis is viral not bacterial. I would give it a few more days and if no improvement then go back to your doctor.
