Doctor Rec to Remove Mole:
I have a mole on my face. I want it removed.
Dermatologist suggested a facial plastic surgeon.
The one she suggested doesn't take my insurance.
I am wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a facial surgeon or someone who will remove a mole from my face.
Anywhere on LI.

Is it precancerous or do you want it removed for cosmetic reasons? If it's just cosmetic you might be better off sticking with the surgeon she recommended. I had two removed for cosmetic reasons and I had to pay the whole thing out of pocket which I didn't mind because I wanted them gone. I think they charged $500 for both, one would have been $300 so it was a lot but it wasn't too bad.

Yes, definitely better off with a surgeon! Good luck. Mine was great but is not on LI.

If it is purely cosmetic, your insurance might not cover it no matter who you go to.
As far as a facial plastic surgeon I would recommend K.A. Hassan, M.D.,F.A.C.S.

i would recommend a dermatological plastic surgeon. i went to one in garden city years ago and have no scar.

I had one removed by a facial plastic surgeon and was left with a horrible scar so be careful when choosing. He also told me it was precancerous so I went back to have the rest removed after biopsy and since getting the pathology report, I was told by other doctors it was not precancerous.

Doctor Rec to Remove Mole:
I used Dr. Sklansky in Great Neck to remove a mole on my face and have no scaring. Was very happy with him and the results.

Island Dermatology - they have offices in Long Beach and Amityville
he's their Moh's surgeon.. very good!

Dr.Tutrone is an excellent "Moh's" surgeon, however when he did my surgery he recommended a plastic surgeon (Dr. Hassan) to do the repair surgery because it was on my face.
I went from Dr. Tutrone's office right over to Dr. Hassan's office. I was extremely pleased with both doctors and my results. You would not know I ever had surgery.

ahh, good to know, thank you. i've had him do the moh's and i literally have ZERO scar there, its amazing. Assumed he was skilled in all other areas too!
