Would you go?

Planning to leave for Disney in a few weeks. Because of the nature of DH business, we rarely take a real vacation.

SIL bachelorette planned in the city for night before. Wasn't really confirmed before we booked. Dinner not until 8 or 9 pm. (Which is main thing I would stay for) I am also working that day. We want to leave 5 am sharp next day.

Not super close with her and MIL said no big deal...people will understand. DH missing Bachelor party because we will be away.

I still feel guilty though and know will have a ton of things to do night before.

I think I just need to be told I'm crazy for feeling guilty.

Take her out to dinner when you get back if you feel you need to do something with her.

I wouldn't go, you don't want to be exhausted and stressed for the first day of your trip.

Agreed. Unless you can meet her for a pre dinner drink but if your in river head and the place is in the city, mistake her out when you get back

Re: Would you go?

No effing way. The night before a trip I am running around like a crazy lady, packing stuff, getting the house in order, shaving my legs, Chat Icon , showering, last minute everything.

No way would I be going out to dinner at 8-9 pm in the city.
No way.
ESPECIALLY in the city- not sure where you live but that's almost an hour and a half train ride for me

I understand feeling guilty and I would feel the same way, but not guilty enough to actually go to the dinner. The night before vacation is crazy time for me - way too much to do. Definitely wouldn't go.

Would you go?

It depends how close the restaurant is to your house. If it's not far I would just go to dinner but that's me- i am a people pleaser and try to attend everything when I really should say no. But if you can't make it don't at all feel guilty!

If you feel bad not going, send like $50 to put towards her dinner/drinks.

Re: Would you go?

I would NOT go. And you shouldn't feel guilty for not going either. It's bad enough you have to work that day...do yourself a favor and skip this one! Enjoy your trip!!

Oh hellz no! You could offer to take her to dinner when you get back, but even that isn't totally necessary. Have fun at Disney!

Re: Would you go?

Thanks everyone. I work on the N/S border of Queens, would need to go home to SS Suffolk and then into the city.

I like the dinner idea. May even plan a couple thing since we rarely hang out with just the two of them.

Enjoy your vacation! Don't ruin it by starting out exhausted from a party you should not go to.

I think that's perfect. Invite them either over for dinner or treat them out.
