Phone De-Friending someone from Facebook
Has anyone had this done or done to them that your phone (or someone else's) "whacks" out and defriends you on facebook?
I really can't see this happening as you literally have to go into your friends and de-friend them and don't want to call someone out if this is real.
Thanks

No. Can't happen. And I've used a similar excuse in the past

Phone De-Friending someone from Facebook
I have accidentally friended people on Facebook. Which is easy to do by accident on mobile. Like if you click on their page it'll sometimes show that you hit the request. I quickly cancel lol.
But to unfriend it seems harder.

Somehow I've accidentally been unfriended or accidentally unfriended someone - not quite sure how it happened.
My son has friended people for me, if I don't close out of Facebook and he goes to play on my phone - I'm sure he could unfriend too.

You can't accidentally unfriend people. You are asked to confirm the unfriending.

Are you sure? I don't think it asks for confirmation.. I am afraid to look and test it out lol

I just did it and it doesn't ask for a confirmation.
The only way I've accidentally unfriended someone is when I'm cleaning up my friends list and clicked on them by mistake. Once I'm on a roll the fingers move quickly
ETS: I didn't do this on a phone. It's always been on a laptop.

Re: Phone De-Friending someone from Facebook
I've done it. I don't know how it happened but I've done it. I was looking at their page and i was scrolling my phone went all wonky and next thing i know i accidentally unfriended them. Which is weird since its a whole drop down menu that you have to go through. It doesn't confirm if you want to unfriend them. It confirms if you want to block someone though.

Re: Phone De-Friending someone from Facebook
But you would have to go into their name then, correct? This person claims their phone went whacky and de-friended a bunch of people. Another person claimed the same "whacky" word. That is why I don't believe it as I have a desktop computer, a phone, an iPad and every one of them you have to actually go on the name and click unfriend.

Ok so I tested it. It doesn't ask you to confirm unfriending (it used to). But you do have to go to that persons page to unfriend them. You can't just unfriend someone while scrolling through your news feed.

Yes, exactly and that is why it doesn't add up when someone says their phone was "whacky".

Yep and I never wanted to say it doesn't work that way without knowing 100% lol.

Re: Phone De-Friending someone from Facebook
I just tried on my iPhone
When you click into the persons page on the left it says friends with a plus sign and check mark. When I click that a menu comes up and gives options to unfriend, cancel request etc.
So it's a 2 step process.

Re: Phone De-Friending someone from Facebook
I mean I guess it's POSSIBLE if someone had your FB page open and was sitting on the phone/had the phone unlocked in a bag/someone took the phone and did it as a weird prank.
