Is it just me?
I'm sitting in the nail salon and there's a maybe 8 year old girl getting a mani/pedi. She is sitting on her iPad with headphones on. She's getting a custom red, white and blue with stars and the lady doing her nails is asking her questions about which color on each nail, what color star, etc... And the girl isn't even responding because she's too busy watching her iPad. The lady had to tap her arm to get her attention. I feel like it's quite possibly the rudest thing. Maybe it's just me. I've seen tons of kids in the nail salon and I have never once seen a kid on their iPad while they're getting their nails done.
And she just screwed up her nails playing with her iPad and they had to fix them.

Totally rude...but at that age I still blame the parents? Where the heck Awere her parents????
Unfortunately every time I eat at a restaurant I see families sitting at the table all locked in on their devices and not even speaking to each other. And I'm not talking someone trying to stop a two-year-old from having a meltdown...these are teens perfectly capable of having a conversation with their parents.

It is rude. While getting a pedicure I am on my phone the whole time...looking on Facebook, pinterest, etc..but once it is time for the manicure I put my phone away. Having my phone out just makes the entire thing harder plus like exactly what happened you could smudge one by accident and then have to get it fixed. Like someone said I blame the parents.

Is it just me?
I see nothing wrong with it while getting a pedicure. I see adults all the time on their phones, Ipads, reading a book. Same thing. If she was still playing with it while getting a manicure, that is just silly because they need to paint the nails and it should have been put away.

The rest, is on her mother for allowing her to be rude.
I think it's different in the pedicure chair, but when you're getting a manicure and the person is 2 feet away from you on the opposite side of the table, it's just bad manners to blatantly ignore them.

She put her iPad on the chair and looked sideways down at it the entire time. She told the lady she wanted every other finger white, red, white, red. She was so engaged with her computer that she didn't even look up until the lady was on her second finger and rudely was like " no, no. You started with the wrong color." Had she been paying attention, she could have said that before she started painting.

I blame the mother - she's raising a rude and bratty child.
One of my biggest annoyance is how people who go for a mani/pedi treat the people doing their nails. Hearing the nasty tones of voices that people use to bark out things like 'I don't like the way you filed this nail, do it again' - I have no tolerance for rude people like that. And I could care less if you are paying for it, you can still use manners to say something if you don't like it.

I would never allow my child to.be that rude. My dd is shy, but will nod yes or no at the woman asking her questions. I don't allow the iPad at the salon.
