Anyone try to do a HARP loan?/Green Tree related

Specifically to try to get out of Green Tree as well?

Our payment would go down $500 a month.

But Green Tree is doing everything to block it from happening (and they don't offer in NYS either).

Seriously thinking of going to the media about their shady tactics.

I know in general I've seen so many of you complain about this company!!!

ETA: we've also looked into other loan options and savings would be minimal PLUS we would need an appraisal....not happening because we are in the midst of construction and would never pass. And we qualify for this but these mothereffers are blocking it!!!

Green Tree holds our second mortgage and when we went to refi out first mortgage with Chase (under the HARP program) Green Tree gave us H-E-L-L when it came to the subordination. I don't understand why, neither did Chase. The HARP refi wouldn't have affected the Green Tree loan AT ALL but they fought me tooth and nail. Both the mortgage rep at Chase and myself went back and forth with them for WEEKS, they were being such a$$holes about everything. My refi was about to completely fall apart because of them and at the LAST possible second they signed off on the subordination and my refi went through but it was an enormous headache to get to that point.

I cannot stand Green Tree and as soon as we're able to DH and I want to drop them. They are a HORRIBLE lender. I was very upset when our loan was sold off to them, it's been nothing but a headache since. Very frustrating.

Green tree is the worst! We refi'd with HARP on our original mortgage and were immediately sold to them. Our payment was adjusted one month to add to escrow and my hubby forgot to update the amount on the autopay from our bank. They called my elderly neighbor and told her to tell us to call them ASAP regarding an urgent matter with our mortgage! She was so upset and worried about us. I called them and ripped them a new one! Ridiculous! Good luck to you!

Send a complaint to the consumer finance protection bureau. I had similar issues with BOA and once I did this they were my BFF!

How exactly is Green Tree blocking the re-fi? When we did the HARP re-fi our old bank really had no say in the matter. We did have an issue with our PMI but finally found a lender participating in both HARP and working with them (took 4 tries, but we did it).

For us, they had to sign off on the subordination papers. If they didn't, our refinance wouldn't have gone thru.

Yep, this is basically it.

We started out with one lender several months ago who basically said they couldn't help us because GT was not being cooperative.

Now we are with another who seems a little more aggressive.

It also is a lot of phone calls and them promising to send stuff then not following through.
