Appliance Repair WWYD
My fridge isn't working (neither is the freezer section). I called a repair franchise (I used them before and was happy) to get it fixed. They're very busy and I have to wait 3 days for an appointment. OK, I understand. The tech comes and says I need a $400 replacement part and it needs to be ordered from Texas. The fridge is only 4 years old so I can't justify getting a new one. They expect to have it within a few days. A week comes and goes (so I'm currently 10+ days fridge-free in June with two kids) and I never hear back. I left two messages on Saturday. I've already left a $200 deposit on this replacement part but I'm starting to doubt this company. Should I wait it out? Call another company who may have the part in stock?

Call them again today and tell them that you are very unhappy with their service making you wait well beyond the time promised, that you want your money back as what they promised wasn't done and that you will be going elsewhere.
I don't remember being asked to put down money on an ordered part, either.
Post complaints everywhere about this one.
