Cash for preschool teacher??
DH, Mom, MIL are trying to convince me that it is totally ok to give cash to the teacher for the end of the year. I'd actually prefer that since it is so much easier, but it seems weird! Is it just me??

I don't give teachers cash. I'm sure they don't mind, but to me it's weird to just hand someone cash. I buy a gift, or get a gift card.

Totally ok... Cash or gift card are prob your best bet. It's difficult to buy something for someone you don't know personally. IMO

Im sure its ok, but i just felt sort of weird. So I bought gift cards to target and a restaurant. I know target is the teachers favorite store,so at least I got one of them right

As a teacher, I would be uncomfortable getting cash. I'm not sure why I feel uncomfortable about cash and ok with gift cards, but I do.

I have given cash for Christmas gifts at daycare. For the end of the year I usually do flowers and a $15 gift card to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts.

I think for daycare or preschool cash as a gift is awesome and appreciated. If it was elem. school or something Id so a gift card.

This is a first, even by LIF standards.
I don't think you can go wrong with giftcards.
I think handing over cash is weird too.

I give my son's nursery teachers cash.
It is not a public school so it is okay. I figure they don't make much (though I have no idea what) and rather than waste the same amount on something they may or may not use I give them cash.
Once he is in public school I will not do this bc it is not allowed.

My daughter's preschool collected $100 cash per kid for the two teachers.
