Huntington line is great. Lots of express trains and if you're goung east side you can go to hunters point and not have to change to port jeff

I take that line but get on in Northport. It is a LONG ride.

He may want to keep in mind, they were doing track work all weekend at Port Jeff and from the emails I got this morning there were delays and cancellations because the work wasn't completed. I know all weekend service was replaced by buses from PJ to Huntington. So I would keep that in mind.

The last few weeks, the trains going East in the late after are delayed and/or cancelled.

It is a long ride. Some of the trains are direct into the city so you don't have to change in Huntington, some you do. The transfer isn't that bad but the times don't usually align with the Express Trains.

Depending on what time he is traveling and where he is going, there are trains that go into Hunters Point which are better than going into Penn. Those trains are only during Peak Hours. There are a few Express Trains into HP.

If he is traveling at off-peak hours, I would suggest just going to Ronkonkoma or driving to Huntington where you have more trains and options.
