Charities that will move furniture?
Does anyone know of one? My grandmother moved to another state to live with a family member as she now needs 24/7 care and cannot live alone. We are going to be putting her apartment on the market soon but are in the process of emptying it out. Her apartment is on the 2nd floor and we'd like to donate a bunch of the furniture to a charity but are looking for one that will come up to the 2nd floor and actually move the furniture into their truck. My mom called a few who said they'd happily take the furniture but that it needs to be curbside for them to take it which unfortunately isn't possible. Thanks!

Charities that will move furniture?
My parents recently donated a couch to the Salvation Army, they will go up one flight of stairs to retrieve the furniture and load it onto their truck. Just make sure the furniture is clean with no stains (even on the underside of couch cushions) or else they may reject the furniture.

Housing Works, out of NYC.
I donated some stuff to them a few years ago, I also am on the second floor and everyone else wanted it on the curb.

I donated a full bedroom set to st Paul de Vincent. You have to take everything apart, the bed, but they will take it down to their truck. They don't take mattresses though. I tipped them and you get a receipt for a tax write off

I believe Big Brothers Big Sisters picks up....not sure if they will go inside to remove items however.
Worse case can you tip a couple kids or neighbors a few bucks to put curbside?
It may be worth the aggravation.

Re: Charities that will move furniture?
My in laws called a bunch of places and the issue they had was that the pickup dates were in late June. Just an FYI in case you are in a rush!
