I hate the smell of A+D ointment......
But love its consistency -- I feel like it spreads so easily on DD and almost "melts" with her body temperature. But again, the smell -- ughhhhhh. Has anyone every used a diaper ointment that has a similar consistency/spreadability to A+D ointment but without the smell?!?!

Isn't Butt Paste only for diaper rash? Looking for something to put on DD for every diaper change.

Could be for either. After awhile we don't put something for every change.

Babyganics makes an ointment. Doesn't smell bad like A&D.

You could try coconut oil. If you get refined it has no smell and will melt on like you described.

This may be a stupid question but is it safe to use coconut oil on the genital area? I know that a lot of people use it for various things, but I know very little about the product.

I'm guessing you want a better answer than that lots of people use it for that. I never researched it and don't use it for that regularly but I do put it all over DD after baths including her diaper area and never had an issue.

We used aquaphor for everyday,
Also, I find the brand name a and d smells better than the cvs version.

Absolutely safe. It's also anti fungal and anti bacterial. However it melts to liquid at 74 degrees so it's not super thick and coating.

Earth mama angel baby diaper ointment is thick and yellow like A and D and smells amazing. You'll have a little lavender herbal baby butt in no time!

Is your child prone to rashes? You really dont need to put ointment on them unless there is a rash

She's only a month old, so no history of rashes -- I just thought that you were supposed to put something on them with each diaper change to create a "barrier" to avoid rashes -- have I been doing this all wrong?!?!

I hate it too. Use Vaseline or aquaphor btwn changes. I use the green up and up for dd bc she gets rashes.

try a diff brand!! there was a target brand that smelled nice and i think the brand cottontails smelled cute. that the one from stop n shop.
