Hi Everyone,

Is anyone else having problems with your data usage since you upgraded from the iPhone 5 to the iPhone 6? My husband and I share 10 gb of data(AT&T is our service provider) and never ever got messages that we were close to going over our data. Ever since we upgraded in early April for the 2nd month in a row we ended up going over(according to them). Now I use my phone for mostly texting, FB and my husband barely uses his. I spoke to a Supervisor at AT&T who says a lot of customers are complaining and having issues with the new 6 and 6 plus and when he looked at our usage he said my husband is using 3X what I do. That's IMPOSSIBLE as he barely uses his phone compared to me. He told me to make an appointment at Apple(I did for next weekend) and use this terminology "Data Leak" and let them take a look. Anyone have any similar problems with the 6 or any advice/insight.

ETA-We've been doing all the "tricks" you read about online and what AT&T told us and turning off cellular data and apps when we use our wifi in the house but that doesn't seem to be helping either.

Have you tried turning off the auto-play of videos when you're on Facebook? I've heard that eats up data.

I have a iphone 6 and my hubby and I share 3 GB of data/month and we never use more than 1/2 the 3 GB. We have Verizon and they don't even have WiFi you can log into and we don't go over.

Yes but I also no longer have wifi at work and I'm always on my phone so I don't know if it's phone related or bc I use less wifi.

Location services are always on unless you turn it off. There is a LOT of stuff in the background of the phone that eating battery and usage. And it buried. Buried buried.

I don't have my phone in me so I could walk you through it. But google something like "turn off location services" and you will see what I'm talking about.

I have it on because I a, unlimited.

And yes, another suggestion is going to each app and seeing how they work. For example I have Facebook set to only play video automatically if I'm on wifi. Last year when everyone was loading the ice bucket challenge people were being killed by the usage. That how this tidbit cMe.

So check all the super secret background stuff. For location did you know your phone tracker everywhere you go? You could go into DH phone and see everywhere he goes. Pretty damn creepy. But don't turn off "find my iPhone". The one time I turned it off because I was on vacation? Lost my phone.
