who here wears glasses?

Just curious...I went to get my eyes checked today because I thought I had pinkeye (turns out its just allergies that affect one eye more than the other) and they gave me an eye test. I didn't do so well I've been in denial for a while, and I could use glasses for distance. Do they take a while to get used to?

I got them so long ago, it's hard to remember, but I think having better vision will cancel out the feeling of getting used to them.

I do remember I had to get used to contacts, and even now I sometimes have trouble with dryness and feeling them in my eyes.

I wear glasses everyday. I feel naked without them

It won't take that long to get used to plus when you can see better you will love it!

I honestly don't remember that far back, but I was in JH & remember trying to hide them for a long time, so people would not see them. I am def not that way now & buy very funky glasses to show my style

i have been wearing glasses for about 4 years now. i needed them for driving at night ONLY but i thought i was cool and wore them all the time.
well my eyes got used to them and now i have to wear them all the time.
i love my glasses and wear them all the time . only time i wear contacts is if i have to go out out , like a wedding or something

I wear glasses and contacts and I think got used to both within a few days (I've been wearing glasses for 27 years and contacts for 23 )

Once you get them you will wonder how you ever saw without them!

I had an eye exam a few years ago when I turned 30. Turned out I needed glasses for reading. Age...it sure does mess you up!

Yeah in the beginning I hated them, but I think that is because it was the 80's & glasses were big & ugly back then (a la Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie).

Now I love them. I wear them to work rather than my contacts, b/c I really need to see very intricate detail & I can take them off to read (and yes you should do this if you can). I have about 4 pairs ranging from Versace to Coach to Norma Kamali & then I have a pair for just lying around the house...flex something or other. I have fun with it...there are soooooo many styles!

I have glasses for reading that I wear at work and I need a prescription for distance but basically I refuse to get it. I had perfect vision up until about 5 years ago.

I have had glasses ever since about first grade. I'm now 26 years old.....didn't take much to get used to them and lots of times I don't even realize I have them on. I don't mind them at all. They have become such a huge part of me. I have bifocals and that's what I'm used to. They had given me progressives and that took some getting used to. If you don't have the glasses adjusted the right way, you may feel like you are going crazy. To me the floor wasn't level and I was so dizzy. Once they were adjusted they were fine!! Good luck to you and sorry to hear that your eyes didn't check out very well. You will be okay though

I've been wearing glasses since I was very young. I just remember putting them on the first time and saying, "WOW! Does everyone see like this?"

I am very used to my glasses and also wear contacts.

I wear my glasses when I am driving at nights, on the computer, or watching TV.

I wear 'em everyday. Tried contacts for a while, but my eyes became very itchy, so that was the end of that.

I didn't wear them for my wedding, but didn't wear contacts either. I remember waving to guests on the other side of the reception hall and seeing only a big blur.



I did wear them towards the end of the night, cause pictures were done, so it didn't matter.

I started wearing glasses in the 7th grade and switched to contacts my junior year of hs. I now wear contacts every day. I got used to both quickly.

Ive needed glasses since the 6th grade... in JR High I got contacts... took a bit to get used to, but i did... recently the contacts have been annoying the poopola out of me... so im getting Lasik THIS TUESDAY!!!!

For distance/driving I do....been wearing them since 8th grade. You will get used to them very fast. Its amazing what the world really looks like once you put them on - you feel like you have been missing something!
