After watching it I just wanna lock me and my kids in a house and never leave. I felt horrible for her that they wouldn't let her see her son, he's what kept her going all those years.

The Cleveland Abduction movie on now
One evening at about 830 I was on my iPad looking on my online library and michelle knights book popped up. I was like let me check out it and just see what it's about. I could NOT stop reading and finished it at about 3am and then proceeded to have nightmares for a week.
It's such a shame and such a horrific story for all of them.

I only made it to the part where Gina DeJesus is cutting Michelle's hair...it's so heartbreaking. I read Jaycee Duggard's book years ago but I haven't read Michelle's yet...I think it'd be too upsetting. I don't know how they got through that many years.

I just watched it. That was so disturbing you can't even believe it really happened. That Michelle knight is such an inspiration. Letting go of her son after all those years, I hope he chooses to reunite with her one day

Amazing woman and the strength they have
But I'm curious why they didn't have michelle in the interview. Why did they lose contact. Did she ever find her son?

From what I've read she has been in contact with his adoptive parents and they send her pictures. But they will not tell him who his birth mother is.
This is from the article I read:
“I don’t know if I will ever see Joey again. I miss him more than you can imagine. At the same time I love him so much that I don’t want to interrupt his life,” she said. “I would never rip him out of his world just so he can be in mine. Sometimes you have to care about people the way they need you to care about them. I have to love Joey enough to let him go. And that is what I’ve done.”

But he was 4 when she lost him, he don't remember her name? I would think if he heard it in the news it would spark a memory.

From what I've read, there have always been issues between Amanda and Michelle. Ariel favored Amanda. Michelle got the worst of it from him. The 5 times Michelle got pregnant, Ariel made sure she miscarried. When Amanda got pregnant, he was excited. Gina has given interviews about it. It's unclear what happened between Gina and Michelle to cause the disconnect.

he was young, so its completely possible that he doesn't remember her name, or a picture. Not many people have very vivid memories when they are that young that they can remember as they get older.
I feel bad that the three girls aren't friends anymore, but if this had happened to me i don't know that i would be ok with keeping these women as reminders of the awful times i had been through either. i guess if you didn't live through it....i could never put myself in her shoes and begin to guess.

I was wondering about this too. My earliest memories are around 2 yrs old. I think her son was 3 or 4 when she disappeared. It's the right thing to do not to disrupt his life but I wonder if he sees her face on the news or tv interviews if anything jogs his memory. He must remember something

I haven't watched the movie, yet, but I did watch the interview. I didn't realize Michelle had a son- that is so, so awful. I cannot imagine what she must feel having to not be able to see him. That poor woman.

I had no idea that she had a son and reading this just breaks my heart. She is an incredibly strong woman to have gone through all of that AND to be selfless enough to let her son go and hope that he will want to meet her one day. I don't think I could have done that...

I started watching the movie and DH made me change the channel its make him so angry and sick at the sametime that people can do that. I feel awful for those girls. Sick sick Man
