Where to head that's fun for fall and to see leaves ?
Looking to drive up north somewhere to enjoy fall. Maybe something quaint... Either day trip or overnight.
Any ideas? Love outdoors and I'm big on photography and cute towns.
Thanks :)

Upstate. I'm from Orange County. Sugar Loaf is a cute artisan community. I also am a New Paltz grad and that's a fun area. I would avoid the Warwick area however at all costs this time of year.
Too many Long Islanders.

DH and I went up to red hook/rhinebeck/hyde park 2 years ago and we loved it! It's not far away at all. We did the tour of Roosevelt's house and visited the Vanderbilt property up there. The town of rhinebeck looks like a little Christmas village! There was a small farmers market on the Sunday. We stayed at the beekman arms. It's right in the town. There's lots of good places to eat given the culinary academy is around there.

Sugar bush looks cute but I have to read more. Is it just like a giant craft Fair of sorts?

No actual shops and galleries.
