which airport...
do you prefer to fly out of?
I used to live minutes away from LGA so it was a no brainer for me...but moving to East Meadow they are all equally as far. DH and i plan to fly with our 2 little ones (2 under 2) on a holiday weekend. We will drive to the airport and park the car there. which is the most convenient to do that? I was hoping to get out of islip but the flights are just way too expensive so its between LGA and JFK. Im trying to figure out drive time but also parking - which airport has parking more easily accessible?

LGA - much smaller, and the traffic by JFK can be terrible.

From East Meadow you can take local streets to JFK so we prefer that! I don't know the route but it's what our car service does and it's a fast, easy ride.

LGA ... They used to have a lot more delays
JFK.. This is the worse with traffics and navigating.
But I always go the cheapest which is JFK even though it's a pain. So crazy because when I lived in NY, Newark was always cheaper and now I'm in NJ, JFK is always substantially cheaper!! First world problems, I know.

i'm not a fan of LGA b/c the runway is so short and you take off immediately over the water which freaks me out -

How about landing.. Looks like you are going into the water. I remember when I was dating DH, he freaked out the first time we flew into LGA.

This. If the Belt is backed up, it's very easy to get off and take the streets to Kennedy.

Islip is the best IMO then JFK. LGA is too cluttered with 2 LOs especially with holiday travel.

If your carrier flies out of Islip that's the best option. Quiet and much easier especially with kids. Otherwise, LGA would be my choice.

We go with the cheapest as well.
If prices are equal, I go by airline - JetBlue out of JFK or Delta out of LGA are my two top choices most of the time.
